"I CAN'T FACE THE PAST, PRESENT, OR FUTURE"

EFT never ceases to amaze me.  I've really enjoyed creating different approaches, and I've been extremely lucky to have had my own clinic where I could practice on so many people with so many kinds of conditions.  I love using metaphors for pain syndromes and other types of "physical" issues and their many presentations.  Here is an interesting example of one.
 
Andrea was a very quiet, soft spoken patient who experienced left sided facial numbness for twelve years duration.   Although she was a regular patient of my husband, Dr. George, a very skilled clinician, nothing he did seemed to address it for very long. 

At my first exposure to EFT, I realized the significance of this extremely powerful healing technique and incorporated it in my practice on a regular basis.  I was particularly interested in experimenting with metaphors as it relates to the body.   My husband suggested to Andrea that she try something new.   Since she had nothing to lose but a little time and numbness, she agreed to a session with me. 

Andrea determined that her facial numbness intensity was a 6.    Here's how it unfolded. "Even though the left side of my face is numb, and it's been numb for so long, I doubt it will go away, I deeply and profoundly accept who I am."  After the first round I could tell she was more relaxed, and the numbness decreased to a 4.  Before we began the second round she said to me, "My husband has a drinking problem and I feel trapped because he won't stop."  I asked her how long he's been that way, she said ever since they lost their business twelve years ago.  When I asked her how she dealt with it daily she replied, "I turn my face to it because there's nothing I can do to change it, and I don't want to break up my family."  My intuition kicked in with the last round, and the set up phrase went as follows.  "Even though I can't face the past, present, or future, I deeply and profoundly accept myself."  The left sided facial numbness of twelve years had disappeared completely after only two rounds of EFT!

Although Andrea was quite happy with her results, she was reluctant to have a follow-up session because she was afraid it would make her divorce her husband. Recognizing her fear of change, it wasn't my place to rescue her either.    She continues to have Chiropractic treatments with my husband, and reports to not having that problem since our session.
